A Whale and a Smile

A dream:

My dirty feet floated over a field filled with dandelions
I wore a white silk dress that beautifully draped over my skin
The skin on my fingers were stained yellow from the dandelions rubbed between them
My fingers picking dandelions then dandelions then daisies and flowers of many different colors
Then amongst the flower garden I came across a pond that I knew well
And the rickety dock that was it's path into the water
Frogs jumped over the lily pads in a pattern on the pond
The lily pads stood tall and green from the calm water where they grew
And from deep within the water there came about a beautiful blue whale
This whale had words of wisdom I cannot recall or retell so powerfully
Or recall or retell at all
But on the morn I awoke carved deeply with a smile
A smile that carried a new life with cleaner feet and flower colored fingers


Tomorrow I'm getting this blue whale tattooed on my foot. This is a dream I had a very long time ago and the wonderful repercussions it had on me. Symbolically, I think, the pond cleaned me and the whale healed me and this dream soothed all the anxieties that I had. I awoke happy for no other reason than this dream I had that I can faintly even recall in it's entirety. The only things I knew were my surroundings and then the comforting words I received really meant something. This dream completely turned my life around somehow. So this tattoo truly means something beautiful to me.
